Under the policy, companies must cease the manufacture and distribution of “unauthorized” flavored cartridge-based e-cigarettes, other than tobacco or menthol flavor, within 30 days. Ignoring the fact that flavors have been shown to be important to adults who vape, and to be preferred by those who want to use vaping as a means of quitting smoking, the FDA claims that their action protects against the use of e-cigarettes by children.
